For students in Middle School or High School Percussion, I offer lessons that focus on:
Rudiments, cadences, metronome training, sight reading, and scales
Music that the student is working on in school can be reviewed during our lesson time
Lessons will also discuss: music notation, time signatures, and key signatures
The student must have drumsticks, a drum pad, a xylophone or bells for practice outside of lessons
Drum Set – Rock – Jazz – Punk – Etc
For students looking to learn the Drum Set, I offer lessons that focus on:
Drum beats, runs, fills, dynamics, internal tempo, time signatures, and speed
Lesson plans and practice music will be tailored to your interests.
For students preparing for auditions, lessons can be dedicated to practicing that material.
The student must have an acoustic or electric drum set for practice outside of lessons.
Drum Tuning
Acoustic drums need to be tuned every couple of years, and drum heads need to be replaced over time. There is a method to tuning drums and changing drum heads that can be intimidating at first. If you’re not sure and would like help from a professional, I offer drum tuning services.
